Beach Walk at Lunan Bay
A hidden gem, Lunan Bay is a beautiful beach with a castle ruin casting its watchful eye out to sea. Popular with surfers and horse riders, shore fishing still takes place here, with nets strung from poles on the beach to trap fish in the falling tide. More info

Arbroath Abbey, Signal Tower Museum or Take a Fishing Trip
The ancient town of Arbroath is one of the quirkier parts of Scotland. Famous for its Arbroath Smokies, (if you don't know what they are you simply have to try them!) as well as the Declaration of Arbroath, there's still a great deal to see and do. Near the harbour is the Signal Tower Museum, built in 1813 as the shore station for the Bell Rock lighthouse, and the Abbey is a great place to visit. More info

Broughty Ferry
Known as "the jewel in Dundee's crown", its fine seafront esplanade and sweeping sands provide the perfect place for a relaxing stroll or a quiet picnic. Situated just four miles to the east of Dundee, it was once the home to the wealthy jute barons who built Dundee's textile fortunes. A beautiful place for a day out. More info
